Hello True Families
There is a party going on and you are invited to it! At Shepherd of the Hills our big event for the whole church (young and old) as we wrap up the school year is our annual Holy Smokes BBQ! We’d love to have you join us at this party/celebration/meat-fest on sunday May 29th, 2016 There will be great food, great people and lots of fun! We’ll starts noonish (after worship) under the shady oak trees by the McCarty Lane entrance of the church. Bring your best BBQ’d meat, side, or dessert to share. You can even bring your own smoker and make your best meal ever on holy ground (to share of course). You may also want show up with a lawn chair or a picnic blanket just to be extra comfortable. This year, along with the yummy meat and side dishes, we will also be celebrating the Rev. Jim Capps’ time with us as a transitional pastor. Sadly that Sunday will be his last Sunday with us at Shpc. If you desire you can bring cards and letters for Jim to the BBQ… we want him to know how LOVED he really is at SHPC! Please come and bring everyone you know, because this is a party.

Saturday May 14th 6-9 pmAs this academic year draws to a close and the hearts of our students begin to focus on summer we want to celebrate YOU and all of our families and students here at True/Shpc in a big big way. We started off this year off with the Back to School True-B-Q in August and it was a huge hit. Now we want to end our year with a similar party but with a fashionable twist. The Big Table Event is focused on the idea of FAMILY and how we remain Family wherever we go. If we go to a new school we are still family, if we change the sport we play we are still family. We change in many ways but Family always remains. Find out more by coming to The Big Table. We will celebrate all of our students and their schools and all our families. We will pass out some much fought over yet very silly awards, You will also be able text in and vote your choices for some very special that night only awards at True!!!!... We will recognize and party with all our students and pay special attention to those transitioning from one school to the next. This recognition includes elementary to middle, middle to high school and lastly high school to college. Students who said Yes to following Jesus this year will be honored as well. Everyone is welcome at The Big Table Event no matter your level of recent or past involvement in our student ministry or our church. The Big Table Event is a full family event. We want and expect a wide range of ages and families to be in attendance. Dinner is provided Dress is semi casual or better. Why not make it a Big night. You will want to look your absolute best as you come down the Red Carpet, If you have a prom dress why not wear it twice. After registering parent will receive special instructions for a moving year end moment with their child that will happen at the event. Adult/Parent dinner is $10 Student $5 (graduating seniors eat for free). Register Now so we can get enough food! |
