Welcome to True! This may be your first night at true or your grad night, either way we are so glad you are here with us. We want to make sure that this year at True is the best year ever. We also want to make sure that you and family know about all the great things we have going on here at True and Shepherd of the Hills church.
I want to invite you to create a True Ministry account. Just click My True button on the home page and you will be prompted to sign in or create a new account. First create a Parent/family account for mom or dad then create the student account. Pictures help us out a lot. We love using social media to keep families informed as to what we have going on. Please join the facebook group True Parents for great conversations and helpful articles. Please follow Trueshpc on instagram and Twitter and you can also get information sent right to your phone with our true text system. Simply send @trueparent to this number 81010 and you will be signed up. Your student can also get encouraging and positive texts sent to their by subscribing @truehs or @truems or @truetw (high school, middle school and tween). Is True free? Absolutely, sort of. True is a ministry of Shepherd of the Hills Presbyterian church and is made possible by generous pledges and donations from people like you. We are always encouraging students and families to support the church in whatever way they can. From volunteering to even providing financial gifts even if Shepherd of the Hills is not your church. Lastly, we are not yet fully electronic and we need the form attached to be filled out and returned next week. This is our annual release form and code of conduct. Parent and Student signatures are required. We keep this form on file until the following August. We do most of our communication via email and that only happens if you have created a My True account at iamtrue.org. We know our flyers rarely make it home to you. Those flyers make great airplanes though.

July 25- 29th 2016 We are in the City of Austin for the City of Austin Switch is designed to help students SWITCH perspective of God’s mission from simply being a couple dates on a calendar to living a lifelong purpose for His glory. In a unique approach, we’re part mission trip, part conference, part camp. God made us to worship Him with everything – to live a life on mission by declaring and demonstrating the gospel of Jesus Christ. No matter our age or where we live, we’re called to worship Him in joy! And we believe God wants youth to worship Him and seek the gospel-centered restoration of their city, their neighborhood, their school – all the time, wherever they are. A little bit of Camp We’ve seen youth groups come together time and time again at camp, bonding as they worship together, eat together, play games together, and laugh (a lot) together. The camp aspect of Switch allows youth groups to come together in a way they wouldn’t have a chance to otherwise – they get to live life together for just one week and learn what it really means to be a community. A little bit of conference It’s so important to understand what the Bible says about mercy and mission because of the gospel. Through large and small group sessions, youth will be equipped to return home and care for the people in their city, their neighborhood, their school – wherever God has them. He cares about these people and places, and He teaches us how to care through His Word. A little bit of Mission trip As part of Restore Strategies’ vision and strategy, we help youth understand what it means to be for the city wherever they live through declaring and demonstrating the gospel to the city of Austin. We partner with dozens of nonprofit organizations across the city year-round, and during Switch, youth serve alongside these organizations, from helping clean up a school to serving a meal at a homeless shelter to teaching Bible stories at a neighborhood event. SWITCH is for grades 7th-12th. We will be staying on the cheap by sleeping on the floors at a downtown church here in Austin. We will be serving the greater Austin area to all the way to Round Rock. The teaching is awesome. The work is invigorating. The music is powerful. I hope you can join us. $350 July 18th -22nd 6pm - 10 pm (please note time change) The Summer is meant to be Fun! Saturday May 14th 6-9 pmAs this academic year draws to a close and the hearts of our students begin to focus on summer we want to celebrate YOU and all of our families and students here at True/Shpc in a big big way. We started off this year off with the Back to School True-B-Q in August and it was a huge hit. Now we want to end our year with a similar party but with a fashionable twist. The Big Table Event is focused on the idea of FAMILY and how we remain Family wherever we go. If we go to a new school we are still family, if we change the sport we play we are still family. We change in many ways but Family always remains. Find out more by coming to The Big Table. We will celebrate all of our students and their schools and all our families. We will pass out some much fought over yet very silly awards, You will also be able text in and vote your choices for some very special that night only awards at True!!!!... We will recognize and party with all our students and pay special attention to those transitioning from one school to the next. This recognition includes elementary to middle, middle to high school and lastly high school to college. Students who said Yes to following Jesus this year will be honored as well. Everyone is welcome at The Big Table Event no matter your level of recent or past involvement in our student ministry or our church. The Big Table Event is a full family event. We want and expect a wide range of ages and families to be in attendance. Dinner is provided Dress is semi casual or better. Why not make it a Big night.
